History of Company
BEBELAN Ltd. is established in 2000 as a lawful heir of the private company “EVIX – Evelina Bettova”, established in 1996 with main activity wholesale and retail of baby food and accessories and owned the registered mark бебелан® (bebelan®). The company is founded and managed by the family Evelina Bettova and Iavor Bettov.
Its activity began in 1996 with a shop for baby-food, diapers and accessories in Sofia. In 1997 the Company opened a second and third shops in the centers of the cities Cherven Briag and Pleven. In 1998 was established the main store for wholesales in Sofia, which in a short time became famous for the retailers throughout the country.
In 1999 the Managers decided to develop the wholesales as main activity of the company and the first step was the opening of a new wholesale store of Bebelan in Pleven and to register the mark bebelan®. In the same year bebelan® developed a considerable distribution net in the country and invested in the logistic, delivery to the place of the retailers and started the deliveries to more than 75-80% of the baby shops in Bulgaria. In 2000, in order to enrich and expand the assortment, the company opened another shop, specialized in sales of baby-clothes, accessories for the baby-care, baby-bedrooms etc. In 2001 the company moved the Central Office in a bigger warehouse building with an area of 1800 м2, which allows it to support bigger store quantities. In the same year the distribution net was stabilized and bebelan® reached almost full covering of the territory of Bulgaria. In this period bebelan® decided to minimize its development in the retail.
In the year 2002 the company introduced a new line of development and commercial policy with new priorities:
• Supplies to the new figures in the market – hypermarkets as Metro and Billa, chains of supermarkets, pharmaceutical warehouses and other clients with considerable volume of orders.
• Higher service quality with supporting of bigger assortment, personal relations with every one of the clients, better logistic and attractive price and payment schemes.
• Development of own international trade and import of goods, domestic marketing and putting on the market.
The successful development of bebelan® is based on the close contacts with the specialized shops in the whole country, with the pediatric doctors in the specialized clinics and consulting cabinets, with the leading specialized magazines as “9 months”, “Parents”, ”Mama” etc. All these good relations allowed bebelan® to collect the necessary information concerning the commercial culture and the needs of the Bulgarian client.
The experience of the company showed that the distribution of those goods is neither in the possibilities of the importer itself, nor is preferred by the big distribution nets. The work in this economic sector is very big as volume and is closely connected with a huge information capacity concerning the advantages and disadvantages of the respective baby foods and accessories and their specific and variety. Therefore bebelan® pays a special attention to the good education of its employees for the work with the clients.
